TSK will build a 160MW concentrated solar power plant in a conjunction led by Saudi Arabia"™s ACWA POWER.

MASEN, the Maroccan Agency for Solar Energy, has announced Saudi Arabia’s ACWA in a consortium with Spain’s TSK and Aries have been appointed to build and operate a plant in Southern Marocco. The winning consortium beat 19 bidders selected in the first round of MASEN’s international call for tenders in the last quarter of 2010. For the development of technical and economical offer and the subsequent construction of the plant, the consortium signed a joint venture with TSK, Acciona and SENER.
This project will be one of the largest CSP plants in the world: 160MW of capacity and four hours of thermal storage using molten salts, which will enable the plant to dispatch energy on demand to cover peak-consumption even after sundown, a feature that other renewable energies cannot offer.
