TSK to build the largest combined cycle plant in Jamaica

TSK will carry out the turnkey construction of a 190 MW combined cycle plant for a value of over 220 million euros for the Jamaican power utility JPS (Jamaica Public Service).

The plant will be able to operate with two fuels, gas and diesel, will use a seawater cooling system and will be the largest of its kind in Jamaica. The plant will be located in the fishing village of Old Harbour Bay about 70 kilometers west of the capital Kingston, replacing an existing plant powered by fuel oil. This will contribute significantly to improving CO2 emissions in the island.

TSK has positioned itself as one of the major EPC contractors in the energy sector, both conventional and renewable, and has acquired extensive experience in engineering, construction, assembly and start-up of power stations using open cycle, combined cycle, and cogeneration technologies, wind farms, thermosolar and photovoltaic plants, hydraulic plants and biomass plants, through its participation in projects of different types that together account for more than 10.000 MW installed.
