IDEPA (Economic Development Agency of the Principality of Asturias) approves R&D+i project: "RESEARCH FOR PILOT LEVEL DEFINITION OF THE FUTURE PRODUCT-MIX OF WORLD CLASS STEEL PLANTS" IDE / 2014/000730

Since December 2014 PHB WESERHÜTTE, S.A. has been developing the project: "RESEARCH FOR THE PILOT LEVEL DEFINITION OF THE FUTURE PRODUCT-MIX OF WORLD CLASS STEEL PLANTS", which has been funded by the Economic Development Agency of the Principality of Asturias (IDEPA) within the "Programme of subsidies aimed at the Implementation of differential or tractor R&D+i projects" and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the" Pluri-Regional Operational Programme for Intelligent Growth 2014-2020 ".

The aim of this project is to achieve a comprehensive approach to the optimization of the steel production process for flat product (cold rolled and annealed coil) and long product (rail). The research to be carried out in this project will allow the design of pilot plants that simulate key stages in the production process for hot rolled product (lengths, rail in a first stage and flat product, plate and hot coil in a second stage), in addition to the design of a multipurpose plant focused on the reproduction of the annealing and coated processes, both key stages of the finished product in the steelmaking process.
